So today I am presenting my first documented DIY tutorial! Yay!!! I am going to be showing you how to make a holiday Christmas greens halo!
- Christmas greens (I used two different types of greens for different textures)
- Mini pine cones
- Some sort of berry for an accent
- Floral wire (preferably green to match)
- Rope wire
- Pair of scissors
The first step is to take your rope wire, which will be your base, and measure around your head. This will be the main band that all your greens are going to be attached to so make sure it fits your head well. Cut it and wrap the wire around the outer so you make a full circle. Next, you'll want to take your first branch of your greens and shape it around the rope band. You can secure it with your green floral wire (I also have floral tape if you need to use that, but i ended up only using the wire..personal preference).
Keep adding your Christmas green branches to your halo making it full an lush. I like mine fluffy and very full, so I ended up layering about 4 branches onto my halo securing them with my floral wire.
To accent my halo and make it more decorative I added a white berry. To do this I kept the stem a little long so then I just tucked them into the wire I already had holding the greens on. My last accent I added was a mini pine cone (so so cute)! To put these on the halo I took some wire and weaved it into the bottom of the pine cone and twisted the ends to make it easier for me to just stick the cone into the wire on the halo to secure!
Ta-da!!! This halo is super simple to make and such a cute accessory for any holiday outfit. I hope you enjoined my first tutorial!
