D.I.Y. rain boot toppers

So Colin got a promotion! Exciting! He has to wear water proof shoes for his job so we got him a pair of rain boots. After the first day he complained of the boots rubbing his shins (so uncomfortable!!!). So we found a solution! Rain boot toppers!

Materials are as follows: I used an old flannel shirt of Colin's that was too small for him. (Or just get about 1/2 yard of fabric) Sewing machine Measuring tape Fabric scissors Marking pen

I started by taking the measurement of the opening of the boot. He wears a size 13.. That's a big boot!

I cut a slit in the side so that when I put them over the boot it sits nicely. Then fold over that raw edge and sew a straight stitch down that.

Finished! Such an easy and quick tutorial and now his boots wont run against his legs if he's not wearing tall socks!

....I asked him to pose in them. This is how he did it. Ha! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. I will certainly be making myself a cute pair for my rain boots soon!!!
