Juicing...**deep sigh** I'm on the edge. Let me start by saying that I have been planning and preparing for a 3 day juice cleanse, which I have been really excited for! Mostly excited for the results, not the veggie part. ha. Today I tried a test drink so I could taste exactly what I should expect. I don't have a juicer so I borrowed my moms Ninja blender which I Googled, and all my results said it would work. Not exactly..At least not during my trial. Okay okay, so for the most part it did work but it took foreverrrrr. I also had to chop up my fruits and veggies into small pieces, which I don't think you have to do with a juicer. Total blending time was probably around 10 minutes. That's a long time to blend!!! After that I took my first sip. GROSS SO SO GROSS. It was lumpy, so lumpy. *sad face* I was so disappointed but I didn't quit there! After my first sip I decided I needed to strain my mixture (some of the tips for using the Ninja said I would have to strain). So I got my little powdered sugar strainer out and a spoon and I strained the mixture. This was actually pretty easy but it was just another step I didn't want to have to do. After all of this I tried my first real "juice" sip. I so wish I enjoyed it more. Maybe it's because I'm not much a veggie girl in the first place but everyone elses blogs that I read about "at home juicing" make it sound scrumptious! I'm not giving up though! I'm still eager to do my 3 day (it's only 3 days right!?) at home juice cleanse, maybe I'll add more fruit then veggies to give it extra sweetness. Thoughts?? Anyone? I've also decided to reach out and see if anyone I know may have a real juicer that I can borrow for the week. I think that's my best bet! Thanks for listening to me ramble...Here are some pictures of my lumpy lumpy "juice" aka kale, celery, lettuce, cucumber, parsley, apples and spinach.
